Passed away peacefully at his home. Born in North Loup. Retired Smoke House Manager for Super Saver. Charter member of Sheridan Lutheran Church and Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church. Former Mayor and City Councilman for the city of Hickman. Former Weather Serviceman for the National Weather Bureau for Hickman. Enjoyed working in his garden and sharing produce with many, mowing his yard, and seeing all the neighbors, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Survivors include, wife, Carolyn; children and spouses, Dennis Babcock, Vicki Borden and husband, Grey, Roxey Miner and husband, John, Bryan Babcock, Teresa Graham and husband, Tim, Daniel Dugan and wife, Kim, Gerald Dugan; grandchildren; great grandchildren; brother, Gilbert Babcock; sister, Bonnie Severance; sisters-in-law, Dorathy Babcock, Ruth Babcock, Erma and George Damkroeger; brothers-in-law, Harlan and Kathryn Babcock, Michael and Bertha Stille; many other relatives and friends. Preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Doris Overbeck; second wife, Delores Greene; son, Larry; seven brothers and sisters.
FUNERAL SERVICES 10:30am Wednesday, September 15, at Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church, Hickman. Rev. Ron Drury will officiate. Interment 2pm Wednesday in the Evergreen Cemetery, Beatrice. VISITATION 9am-9pm Tuesday, Butherus, Maser & Love Funeral Home, 211 East 1st Street, Hickman 68372. Memorials are suggested to the Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church, Hickman Fire Department or St. Elizabeth Hospice.
