She was married to Norman P. Bellis in 1938 and lived in Hackettstown, NJ until 2006 when she moved to Colorado with her daughter. Katherine worked as a school teacher for 36 years. She was also an active community volunteer and member of the Trinity Methodist Church in Hackettstown.
Katherine was pre-deceased by her parents, six brothers, and one sister. Her husband Norman died in 1978. She is survived by her daughter Margaret Dyer-Weissman, son-in-law, Melvyn Weissman, son Jonathan Bellis, daughter-in-law Virginia Gwynn, one granddaughter, five grandsons, and two great-grandchildren.
No one could have asked for a more supportive mother, grandmother, aunt, cousin, and friend.
Visitation is scheduled from 4:00 - 7:00 p.m. Wednesday July 23 at Swan Law Funeral Directors, 501 N. Cascade Ave, Colorado Springs. A funeral is planned at a later date at the Larison's Corner Presbyterian Church, Ringoes, NJ, and internment will take place thereafter at the Amwell Ridge Cemetery.
