He was a grandson of Ireland.....the son of the family's first immigrant from Ireland to America to fulfill his dream for freedom and to own his own farmland.
Isley Edgar spent his entire life as a hard working man of the land.
He knew farming and lived farming his entire life. He was a father of 10. He was a strong and loving, patient father with his children and well loved by them all.
He was a devout husband to Daisy Maud Hurt Kelley and a man of faith. His sons and daughters lived a lifetime using the lessons he'd been taught growing up on a farm in North Louisiana. They survived the dust and the droughts, the Depression, the loss of a child and WWII. Surviving hard times was a life's cross to bear. They measured wealth in the health of their children and the number of their grandchildren. They were Baptists by faith and Christians in the daily lives they led.
Three of his children's graves have not been located...yet. Nixie was killed at the age of 5 by a falling tree when he got too close to a logging site. Doris Venoma was a certified educator and married to Furman Dillard. They are buried near Farmerville, LA. Jeraldine "Gerry" Francis was married to Robert Hutton and died of a brain aneuryism. She is buried in Houston.
His parents are buried in Mt. Paron Cemetery in Claiborne County, Lousiana. His father was Oliver Asberry Kelley and his mother was Cathrine Russell Holloway Kelley, both of Savannah Georgia.
One of his siblings is Joseph O. Kelley better known as Doc. His page here in FindAGrave is 20474151. I'm not able to add any information to his page because the person who posted it is not taking messages....
