Obituary. Mahala Chadwick was born December 31, 1816 in the state of New York. In 1845 she was united in marriage to Henry Collier of the same state. In 1848 they came to Michigan and settled on a farm in White Oak, Ingham county, where she lived until thirteen years ago, when she went to live with her sister in Dansville. Nine years ago this fall she came to live with her nephew, E. M. Chadwick, where she passed away June 11, at the advanced age of 94 years, 5 months and 10 days. She was the last one of a family of 13 children. She is survived by one son, several grandchildren, beside other relatives and friends. Funeral services were held at the home Tuesday afternoon and Wednesday morning the remains were taken to the Meech cemetery, three and one half miles southeast of Williamston and laid to rest beside her husband who died July 10, 1875.

Her death certificate is from the State of Michigan. She died in Olive Township, Clinton CO, MI. Her date of death was June 11, 1911 and her date of birth Dec 31, 1816. She had Valvular Heart disease. She was born in NY, her father was Eliza (sic - actually Elijah) Chadwick and her mother was --Woodard, both birth places unknown. She was to be buried in Meech Cemetery, June 14, 1911. Ervie A. Chadwick (E.M.'s wife) supplied the information. (Unmarked grave.)
