He married Nov 20, 1877 to Lusilla Van Buren. He was 17 and she was 21. - both born in White Oak. The witnesses were Myron Van Buren and Patience Van Buren.

From the Wed, 21 March 1906, Ingham Co Democrat there are two items. Milleville: Miss Eva, Lee and George Garrison of Vevay attended the funeral of their Uncle, John Collier, near Stockbridge last Wednesday, and took dinner their cousins H. Bravender and wife.
Leroy Items: Mrs. Milo Smith and Dollie attended the funeral of their cousin, John Collier, at the North Stockbridge church last Wednesday. They called on their old friends, Dutcher and Burden, the same day.

There is a Van Buren family tree on Ancestry.com. The Van Burens married into the Dutcher family. It gives Lusilla's first name as Lovina T, born 9 June 1856. It has her siblings and parents as Abraham/Abram H. VanBuren and Betsey Ann Wright.

John H. Collier's death certificate is from the on-line Michigan Death Certificates. Died in Vernon, Shawnasee Co, MI on March 12, 1906. Lovinia lived there too and supplied the info. He is to be buried March 15 in Stockbridge. His father is Henry Collier born in Steuben Co, NY. He has been married 28 years, had 3 children of whom 2 are alive.
