Margaret Webber Swope, 94, of Roanoke, passed away in a Bedford hospital on Sunday, July 24, 2005. She was the widow of Horace M. Swope and predeceased by her parents, Frank and Mary Webber, sister, Hazel Atkinson and a brother, Carl Webber. Mrs. Swope was a faithful, longtime member of Fair View United Methodist Church. She was a former volunteer with the League of Older Americans. Surviving are her nephews and nieces, Lee and Karen Humbert of Gilbert, Ariz., Betty Swope Kennedy and Ralph Swope, Jr. both of Arlington, Va., John Swope of Waverly, Iowa, Donald Webber of Smith Mountain Lake, David Webber and Susan Webber both of Richmond, Carolyn Webber of Blue Ridge, Ronnie Atkinson of Parkersburg, W.Va., Kenny Atkinson of Roanoke, Curtis Atkinson of Ravenwood, W. Va., Steve Atkinson of Ripley, W. Va. and Mike Atkinson of of Vinton. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. on Thursday, July 28, 2005, at Oakey's North Chapel. The Rev. Steve Summers will officiate. Interment will be in Fair View Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 3 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday at Oakey's North Chapel, 362-1237.
