He was married in Punxsutawney,Jefferson county,Pennsylvania on 25 November 1908 to Margaret Rinn by the Rev. J.B. Eakins
A longtime businessman,civic leader,banker and coal operator;he was 81 years of age at the time of his death,
at his home on Pine Street in Punxsutawney.
He attended the Cheltenham Military Academy,was graduated from the St. Paul's Preparatory School in 1900.
He received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Yale University in 1904.
He was a member of the First Methodist Church in Punxsutawney; the John W. Jenks Lodge; the F.A. & M.;the Coudersport Consistory; the Jaffa Shrine of Altoona; the BPO.Elks; the Rotary Club; and the Venise Florida Yacht Club.
He was a former member of the Adrian Hospital Board of Directors and he retired in 1957 as Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Punxsutawney National Bank.
He was also the President of the Summit Coal Company of Punxsutawney. He was also a member of the John A. Weber 50th Anniversary Club. A Charter & Life member of the Punxsutawney Country Club.
He was survived by his wife,two sons and a daughter:
Samuel Rinn Winslow of New York City;
John C. Winslow of Venise,Florida; and Mrs. John S. (Anna Martha) Carlton of Gladwyn,Pa.
He also left 7 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.
Burial at Circle Hill Cemetery.
