For many years he was prominent in the affairs of the county and was widely known in East Texas. He was a very successful farmer and stockman. He took an active part in the politics of the county and was made road supervisor under the Faulk road law. He was later elected Commissioner of his precinct, filling the office in a most creditable manner. He had a host of friends over a wide territory who will learn of his death with the keenest regret.
