Funeral services for Maurice Freeman, former citizen of Athens who died at Kerrville at 1:15 Thursday morning, was held at Frankston Friday. A brief service was held at the home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Pierce Freeman at 1:00 o'clock. The body was then carried to the Methodist church in Frankston where funeral services were conducted by Rev. M.L. Fuller of Athens, assisted by Rev. Holinquist, pastor of the Frankston Methodist church.

The remains of the young man arrived in Palestine Thursday night from Kerrville, accompanied by his sister, Miss Loy Freeman and Mrs. John Carroll. It was carried overland to Frankston.

Besides his father and mother he is survived by two brothers, Ben and George Pierce of Frankston and one sister, Miss Loy Freeman of Athens.

Miss Loy, who left here Wednesday on receipt of a telegram reporting his condition critical, arrived shortly before his death.

Active pallbearers were: Troy Houston, Boyd Bacon, Guthrie Colson, Jno. Frank Austin, Joe Tom Hutcheson, William Sanders, A.S. Ford and Jno. W. Carroll.

Honorary pallbearers were: Mr. Truitt, F.E. Hood, J.A. Eakins, Frank Landrum, Brady Bartlett, Tom P. Faulk, E.G. Walker, W.C. Sciarrat, Bradford Seale, E.J. Prince, R.B. Royall, G.H. Ballard, H.S. Barron, Bud Ballard, H.R. Lammons and R.A. Whittlesey.
