Estelle P. Hurlburt, 92, of Monticello, formerly of Monon, died at 9:53 p.m. Sunday, 24 Jul 2005, at Monticello Assisted Living and Healthcare.

She was born at Monon on 20 Oct 1912, to Isaac and Emma (Kesler) Banes. She married John Wesley Hurlburt at Monticello on 28 Mar 1937. He died 29 Oct 1985.

She was employed with Schumacher Electric in Rensselaer for 15 years. She was a homemaker. She lived in Monon most of her life. She was a member of the Monon Community Church.

Survivors include long time friend and care giver, Jane Garver of Monticello; brother, William (June) Banes of Lafayette; sister, Betty (John) Nightingale of Medaryville; sister-in-laws, Ruth Banes of Monon and Pauline Beatrice Banes of Western Grove, Arkansas.

Five brothers, three sisters are deceased.

Graveside services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Bedford Cemetery, Monon with the Rev. Don Newman officiating.

Memorials may be made to Monon Community Church.
