My Mom (Sylvia) told me this story about Aunt Emma:
"One of her daughters was dangerously close to the railroad tracks and Aunt Emma ran, grabbed, and pulled her out of the way of the fast-moving train. But in the process, Aunt Emma's leg fell onto the track and was cut off by the wheels. After that she had a wooden leg, but she always wore floor length dresses to cover it."
