SPOTTSWOOD-Hugh Walton Lotts, 77, of Spottswood, died at 6:45 p.m. Friday (Oct. 16) in a local nursing home. He was born July 31, 1910, in Augusta County, a son of James T. And Venie Wiseman Lotts. He was a farmer and a member of Old Providence ARP Church. His wife, Mrs. Lennis Swisher Lotts, preceded him in death. Survivors include his step-daughter, Mrs. Doris Dudley of Rockbridge Baths; a brother, Herman J. Lotts of Staunton; four sisters, Mrs. Hettie Wood, Mrs. Ruby Ott and Mrs. Iva Myrtle, all of Staunton, and Mrs. Reba Cash of Spottswood; two stepgrandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.

A service was conducted at 3:30 p.m. Sunday in the Henry Funeral Home chapel by the Rev. Max Bolin and the Rev. C. Edward Pruitt. Burial will be in Old Providence ARP Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Charlie Harris, Charles Bradley, Charlie Sensabaugh, Warren Bradley, Bobby Gordon, Donald Harris, Fred Hutchens and Brent Hutchens.

The family requests that memorial tributes take the form of contributions to the Memorial Trust Fund, c/o Charles W. Bradley, Route 1, Spottswood, Va. 24475, or to the Memorial Trust Fund of Staunton-Augusta County Rescue Squad, 1601 N. Coalter St., Staunton, Va. 24401.
