Beulah Smith
Beulah M. Smith, 87, of 1201 Menor, died on May 7th at Heritage House. Born in Fayetteville, Ark., on March 17, 1897, she was the daughter of Thomas and Rebecca Brooks.
She had lived in Winfield since she was a small child and was a 1916 graduate of Winfield High School. On Nov. 7, 1917, she was married to Charles F. Smith, and he preceded in death in 1978.
Mrs. Smith had worked as a nurses' aide at William Newton Memorial Hospital and was a member of the Church of Christ.
Survivors include six sons, Wayne, Dean, John and Jim, all of Winfield, Gale of Blandford, Mass., Carl of Thayer; two daughters, Marjorie Bunch of Kansas City, Jean Schulze of Arkansas City; three sisters, Grace Ruggles and Pearl Slagle, both of Winfield, Mamie Terrill of Manhattan; a brother, Earl Brooks, of Caldwell, Idaho; 30 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren.
Funeral arrangements will be announced by Swisher-Taylor & Morris Funeral Home.
