Services for J. R. Sholars of Jonesboro, formerly of Winnfield, were held at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday in the chapel of John Kramer & Son with the Rev. Waynon Mott officiating. Burial was in Forest Lawn Memorial Park.
Sholars, 73, died at 9 p.m. Monday, February 20, 1984, in Jackson Parish Hospital.
Survivors include one son, H. C. Moorhead, Jr.; five daughters, Sharon Brown of Jonesboro, Bobbi Rennicke of Weiner, Ark., Sue Melancon of Alexandria, Morean Roberts of Tioga, and Dorothy Hunt of Texarkana, Ark.; three sisters, Jackie Boyette of Winnfield, Maude O'Bryan of Calvin, and Edna Avery of Weston; 10 grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
