Funeral services for Paul Hughes Robinson, son of Elmer and Jennie C. Hughes Robinson of Mapleton, former resident of Springville, who died at his home in Salem Thursday, August 24, 1972, were held Monday, in the Salem ward chapel. Burial was in the Salem cemetery.
He was born Nov. 4, 1930 in Spanish Fork, and married Lorna Christensen, April 18, 1957 in Price. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Manti temple. He received his education in the Mapleton and Springville schools, and in 1958 moved to Salem where he has lived since. He served in the Army during the Korean conflict after which he worked at the old Ironton Steel plant and for the past 16 years he had been at Geneva Steel in the maintenance department.
He was a member of the Steel Workers Union, a member and past president of the Salem Wahoo Riding Club and a member of the Nebo Chariot Association. He was an Elder in the LDS church. His hobbies were his horses, breaking and training them, and he was widely known for his skill as a horse shoer. Survivors are his wife, Lorna, of Salem, and seven sons and daughters: Loren, LaVar, Judeth, Pauline, Margary, Starla Rae and Elizabeth, all of Salem; his parents of Mapleton, and Mrs.Wilson, Mrs. Laurance (Clara Jean) Rayburn, David Glenn Lee Robinson, and Alan Wayne Robinson, all of Springville; Mrs.Gerald (Phyllis) Luker and Mrs. Jesse (Glenda) Pino both of Orem; Francis Kay Robinson of Magna; Roger J. Robinson in the U.S. Army in Vietnam; Mrs. Terry (Helen) Mattinson, Robert Dale Robinson and Lynda Robinson, all of Mapleton; Dennis Lynn Robinson of Spanish Fork, and Mrs. Alan (Iris Ann) Price of Santaquin.
