Mary Alice Anderson, b. 07 NOV 1886, d. 11 DEC 1972 is descended from a prominent pioneer family, the Nathan Jackson Brewton & Nancy Fontaine family, who left the Carolinas after the American successful struggle to gain independence from King George III, King of England and Ireland, at that time and they settled in Tattnall County, Georgia along the banks of the Canoochee River where Cedar Creek runs into the river. Her great grandparents Nathan Jackson and Nancy Fontaine Brewton are interred in the Brewton Cemetery in Hagan, Evans County, Georgia. Mary Alice Anderson comes from a large family. She ranks third in birth order among the children of her parents, William Shelton Anderson and Isabelle F. Jones. Her mother is the daughter of William M. Jones and Nancy Hendricks, who are interred in the privately owned cemetery called "Thomas Nevil Cemetery" by the landowners.
