Omelia Jane Anderson, b. 26 Jan 1892, d. 08 Feb 1967, is the daughter of William Shelton Anderson and Isabelle F. Jones Anderson. She is descended from a prominent pioneer family of French Huguenot origin, the Nathan Jackson Brewton & Nancy Fontaine family, who migrated from the Carolinas after the American successful struggle to gain independence from King George III, King of England and Ireland. They finally settled in Tattnall County, Georgia along the banks of the Canoochee River where Cedar Creek runs into the river. Her great grandparents Nathan Jackson and Nancy Fontaine Brewton are interred in the Brewton Cemetery in Hagan, Evans County, Georgia. Omelia Jane Anderson also comes from a large family. She ranks sixth in birth order among the children of her parents, William Shelton Anderson and Isabelle F. Jones. Her mother's parents, William M. Jones and Nancy Hendricks, are interred in a privately-owned cemetery in Bulloch County, Georgia, named "Thomas Nevil Cemetery" by the landowners (who as the time of this writing are their direct descendants).
