Son of Edward J. Woodgate and Hanora Woodgate, formerly Lannon, of Mill Street, Callan, Co. Kilkenny.
His father was a Manager, born in Malta.

Hs stated age is incorrect.
He was 14 years and 9 months old when he died.
He was the youngest of the military personnel on board to lose his life.
He was possibly the youngest serving soldier to die in World War 1
