At a young age, Alexander "Alec" Cameron's father, Charles, left him with relatives in Amoret, Bates Co., Missouri, after his mother had run off with another man. His father subsequently left that area and had little contact with family. Alec was left with his uncle and aunt, John J. and Rebecca W. (King) Cameron. In later years Alec's brother-in-law, "Lige" Walters, who did a lot of traveling, told Alec he had found that Charles, his father, was in Salt Lake City, UT. Alec was saving money so he could go see him, but his father died Feb 1939 in Salt Lake City before Alec could make the trip. Alex's cause of death was coronary thrombosis "coronary atherino."
