Martha M. Franke dies at age of 64
Mrs. Martha M. Franke, 64, of route 2, Ossian, died at 7:30 a.m. this morning at the Fort Wayne Lutheran hospital, where she had been hospitalized 10 days.
She was a member of the Bethlehem Lutheran Church located near Ossian, and the Ladies Aid Society.
Born in Wells county on May 23, 1910, she was the daughter of Frederick and Marie Bauermeiser-Graft, and was married on April 27, 1930, to Herbert Franke, who survives.
Also surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Henry (Delores) Scheumann, of route 2, Ossian; Mrs. William (Beverly) Braun of Elmhurst, Ill.; one son, Delin Franke of route 2, Ossian; two sisters, Mrs. Edwin (Ella) Meyer of route 4, Ossian; Mrs. Herman (Rose) Miller of Fort Wayne; one brother, Arthur Graft of route 4, Ossian; and eight grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Bethlehem Lutheran Church, with Rev. A.E. Batiansila officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Friends may call at the Elzey funeral home, Ossian, after 7 p.m. Sunday, and at the church after 1 p.m. Tuesday.
