Roberta Robinson, resident of OKC for 50 years, died December 20, in Dallas; born October 15, 1902, in Commanche Indian Territory. She and her husband, Hurlburt Slate, were charter members of St. Andrews Presbyterian Church. She graduated from Central High School and attended Rice Institite in Houston. She taught school in Sudan, TX, and lived in Amherst, TX, before moving to OKC in 1935. She is survived by her husband, Hurlburt Slate; sister, Rita Alice Robinson, of OKC; 3 children, Joseph E. Slate, of Austin, TX, Marilynn McKnight, of Dallas, Phoebe Hicks, of Houston; son, John Hurlburt Slate, a Naval flier, died in 1955. She is survived by 8 grandchildren, Ann Gaspari, Martha McKnight, Amy McKnight, of Dallas, Mary Lynn Smith, of Tyler, TX, John Slate and Bridget Slate, of Austin, Mark Hicks and Alice Hicks, of Houston; 2 great
grandchildren, Daniel and Christina Gaspari.
