Obituary: Farmerville Gazette, Wednesday, October 26, 1898. Mr. W. J. Pickel, an old resident of Union Parish, died at the residence of his son-in-law, Mr. C. T. Carothers, near Unionville last Thursday afternoon, and his remains were brought to Farmerville Friday where they were laid to rest in the Farmerville Cemetery amidst a host of relatives and friends. Mr. Pickel was quite an old man, having reached his 74th year, and his death was the result of a general giving away of his constitution. He leaves four daughters and two sons to mourn a father's loss. To them the Gazette offers sincere sympathy.

Gravesite Details

Specifically: Local papers stated he was buried in Farmerville Cemetery near relatives but headstone not found (it would have been in the very oldest part).
