Bowling, James Daniel - age 71, of Brooks Gap Rd., Clinton, passed away Thursday evening at his residence after a lengthy illness. Survivors include wife of 51 years, Katherine Smith Bowling; son and daughter-in-law, David and Judith Bowling of Heiskell; daughter and son-in-law, Kay and Lynn Anderson of Clinton; daughter-in-law, Susan Bowling; eight grandchildren; brother, L.C. Bowling of Clinton; sisters, Kathleen West of Kingsport, Anna Garner of Louisville, Viola Rippitoe of Morristown; several nieces and nephews. Mr. Bowling was a member of the Bethel Baptist Church of Clinton. He was employed at the Y-12 Plant of Union Carbide as a machinist for 29 years. He was a member of Valley Lodge No. 383 of Andersonville, the Adoniram Council No. 0114 of Oak Ridge and the Alpha Chapter No. 0223 of Clinton. A Masonic Service will be held prior the the funeral. Funeral services will be held Monday, 8:30 p.m. at Holley-Gamble Funeral Chapel. Rev. Clyde Gray officiating. Interment Tuesday, 11 a.m. Norris Memorial Garden. Family will recieve friends Monday from 7-8:30 p.m. at Holley-Gamble Funeral Home, Clinton.
