Services were November 2, 1987 at the Porter Funeral Home, Jamestown, for Adelia (Scamahorn) Scott, age 105, Lizton. She died October 31, 1987 at Autumn Care in Brownsburg. Rev. Glen Clarkson officiated. Burial was in the Lizton K. of P. Cemetery.

A native of Hendricks County, she was born Nov. 25, 1881, a daughter of Walter and Barbara Ellen (Hubble) Scamahorn. She had three sisters - Alice, Mary and Cora - and five brothers, Nathan, Harl, Marion Hother, Floyd (Jack) and Oscar (O. T.). The Scamahorn family, known as Schermerhorn, came to America from Holland in 1636 and settled in New York. They moved to Pennsylvania, then to Kentucky and Indiana. A deed to land purchased in Hendricks County was issued to Nathaniel Scamahorn on October 22, 1829.

She attended the Union Township schools and on September 30, 1903, she married Fay Scott who preceded her in 1963. They farmed their entire lives before retiring and moving to a new house in Lizton in 1959. Mrs. Scott was a member of the Lizton Christian Church.

She is survived by a daughter, Jeannette Pritchett; a granddaughter, Peggy Berg of R.R. 1, Lizton and four great-grandchildren.
