Reva Greenfield, age 77, of Villisca, Iowa died on Saturday, September 15, 2001 at the Villisca Good Samaritan Center in Villisca, Iowa. She was born on August 12, 1924 near Nodaway, Iowa, the daughter of Harry A. and Lila Mabel McCoy Cooney. She attended school in Nodaway and graduated in 1942. Then she attended Iowa State Teachers College and graduated in 1945. She taught rural school in Adams County for three years. On May 31, 1946 she was married to Murl Greenfield in Omaha, Nebraska. They farmed north of Villisca until 1971, then they moved to town. She spent 16 years on the nursing staff of Villisca Good Samaritan. She was a member of the Villisca Methodist Church. She is survived by two daughters, Marilyn Gridley and husband Alan of Villisca, Iowa, Marcella Reser of Denver, Colorado, daughter-in-law Chris Gunderman of Jackson Hole, Wyoming, four grandchildren, one great grandson, and many other friends, relative, nieces, and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1996, parents, son Richard in 1976, five brothers, Lyle, Kenneth, Joe, Leonard, and John, and one sister Lois. Funeral services were held on Wednesday, September 19, 2001 at the Villisca Methodist Church with Rev. Erik Corley officiating. Burial was in the Arlington Cemetery near Villisca, Iowa. Memorials were directed to the Villisca Methodist Church. Wolfe was in charge of arrangements.
