8. Margaret Caroline Whitener: b 18 Sep 1838 d unknown; m Elbert Searcy 10 Feb 1853, Gilmer Co, GA. Joel Elbert Searcy was brother of Levina Searcy who married Caroline's brother Philip. On 27 Mar 1865 Elbert Searcy was killed by the same renegade gang that had killed Philip Whitener. On 9 Sep 1869 Margaret R. Searcy m James R. Plemmons in Gilmer Co, GA.
