CASSELEEN "CASSIE" PLUMLEY FREEMAN, 88, of South 8th Street in DuBois and formerly of Van Woert Street in Sykesville, died Friday at the DuBois Nursing Home. Born on Nov. 17, 1921 in Hager, Lincoln County, WV, she was the daughter of the late Louis and Jane Adkins Plumley. She retired from the DuBois Nursing Home, where she worked in the housekeeping department. Prior to that, she had worked for Loree Footwear in Big Run for many years. She enjoyed her grandchildren and family as well as cooking, sewing, doing word search puzzles and shopping. Mrs. Freeman is survived by her children, Dorsel Baker of Hager, WV, Mrs. Juanita LaBorde (Richard)of Sykesville, and David Freeman and wife Debbie of Reynoldsville. She is survived by a sister, Velora Elkins of Hamlin, WV and a brother Joshua "J.A." Plumley of Hager, WV. She is also survived by 12 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren, and three great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Mason Freeman, four brothers; Danford "DD" Plumley, John Plumley, Sudrick Plumley, and Ronald Plumley; two sisters, Ethel Plumley and Nancy Hill, two half-sisters; Thressa Cooper and Mabel Neal, two infant daughters, an infant granddaughter and two infant great-great grandchildren.

A funeral service was held at 11 a.m. Monday at the Goble Baronick Funeral Home with the Rev. Robert Siple officiating. Burial was in the Sykesville Cemetery.
