THE PARIS NEWS, Sun., Mar. 1, 1998, p. 4B: 'Isabel Bridges Abels, 87, of Paris, died Friday, Feb. 27, 1998, in McCuistion Regional Medical Center. Fry & Gibbs Funeral Home will conduct graveside services at 2 p.m. Monday, March 2, in Evergreen Cemetery with the Rev. Ray Starnes and the Rev. John Pflug officiating. The family will be at their residence. Mrs. Abels was born Jan. 2, l911, in Paris, a daughter of Roy C. and Ida Crowley Bridges. She was a graduate of Paris High School and attended Christian College in Columbia, MO, Texas Woman's College in Fort Worth and Kidd Key College in Sherman. She married J. W. Abels July 9, 1934, In Paris. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church and of its former Fellowship Sunday school class. She was an avid bridge player. Survivors are her husband, J. W. Abels Jr. of Paris; a daughter, Joan Abels Pryse and husband Scott of Oklahoma City; two granddaughters, Jennifer and Julie Pryse, both of Oklahoma City; a sister, Lydia M. Griffin of Paris; a sister-in-law, Dorothy Bridges of Rockford, IL, and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great nephews. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Joan's twin sister Jane Abels Oct. 17, 1938, and by an infant granddaughter, Jeann Pryse, Sep. 30, 1972.'
