THE PARIS NEWS, Fri., Jul. 17, 1998, p. 4B: 'Lydia Martha Griffin, 84, of Paris, died Wednesday, July 15, 1998, at McCuistion Regional Medical Center. Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Evergreen Cemetery with the Rev. Blake Dunagan officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Gene Roden's Sons Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 7-8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Ms. Griffin was born Dec. 27, 1913, in Paris, a daughter of Roy C. and Ida Crowley Bridges. She graduated from Paris High School, attended Paris Junior College and Christian College in Columbia, MO. She had served as dorm director for Texas Woman's University in Denton. After retiring, she served on the McCuistion Regional Medical Center Auxiliary and was active in a local garden club, plus teaching children's Sunday school classes for many years. She was a member of First Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Crowley Bridges, and sisters Isabel Abels and Martha Josephine Bridges. Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, David and Dorothy Griffin of Paris; three grandsons, Paul Griffin of Wagoner, OK, Craig Griffin of Bixby, OK and Joshua Griffin of lrving: a sister-i-law, Dorothy Bridges of Rockford, IL; a brother-in-law, J. W. Abels of Paris; and four great-grandchildren."
