Carrie E Jones
Carrie E Jones, daughter of John and Alatha Cade, was born January 8, 1887 in Taylor County, near New Market, Iowa.
She was united in marriage March 5, 1902 to Newt Jones. To this union was born four children.
Mrs. Jones spent her entire life living in New Market and vicinity, with the exception of the last five years in Kansas City.
She was united with the Christian Church early in Life.
Mrs. Jones was a devoted mother and a good neighbor, always helping and sharing with those in need. She departed this life Friday, Mary 13, 1970 at the age of 83. Mrs Jones is survived by tow daughters Velma McKay and Ola Eubanks of Kansas City Missouri; on son, Don H Jones, Shenandoah, Iowa; a granddaughter, Mrs. Michael (Sonja) Lewis and two great grandsons; Jeffrey and Chris Lewis of Kansas City Missouri.
She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, one brother, two sisters, and a son Garve.
Services were held March 9 at the Church of Christ in New Market, conducted by Rev A R Sorenson, assisted by Loren Daly. Interment was in Memory Cemetery, New Market. Singers were Mrs. Shirley Larson and Mrs. Marilyn Williams and organist Mrs. Lois Moore.
Pallbearers were John Combs, Wesley Glassgow, Dale Crawford, Paul Adams, Earnie Glassgow and Chick Brown.
