He was 21 and the son of David and Catherine Simpson Manson of West Side, Stroma.

He was previously commemorated by Special Memorial [see photo] at Lyness Royal Naval Cemetery,Lyness,Orkney Islands, Scotland but his actual grave, having recently been positively located in Stroma Cemetery, was unmarked and CWGC is therefore in the process of erecting a headstone.
