Paul, who resided at 1300 North Jackson Street, Wilmington, Delaware, served as a Private in Company A, 16th Infantry Regiment, 1st Infantry Division, U.S. Army during World War II.

He enlisted in the Army on October 22, 1942 in Camden, New Jersey. He was noted as being employed as a mechanic and also as being Married.

He was "Killed In Action" in Sicily near Ponte Olivo airfield during the war.

He was first interred in a field grave on the Niscemi road on July 13, 1943, together with several other soldiers from his unit. On July 26, 1943 he was re-interred in the temporary American cemetery GELA in plot-grave C-30-359. Later he was re-interred again here.

He had served in the Army for eight months at the time of his death and was decorated with a Purple Heart.
