Betsy A. Miller Deverell, age 93, of Wilmington, DE, passed away peacefully while surrounded by her family on Thursday, January 10, 2013, at her home.

Betsy was born in Wilmington, Delaware on February 20, 1919, and was the daughter of the late Paul Miller and Rebecca Mammele Miller.

In addition to raising her family, she worked as a self-employed seamstress, and ran a successful business, "Betsy Deverell Exclusive Sewing", out of her home. Betsy was a gifted sewer, whose beautiful designs were worn by dignitaries, pageant participants, and many others. She possessed a tireless work ethic, never allowing her multiple disabilities to slow her.
Betsy was a talented artist, and her pieces graced many greeting card covers over the years. She proudly studied under the late artist, Ed Loper, Sr. She was a long-time member of Our Lady of Fatima Church. Betsy was an active member of numerous community groups, and especially enjoyed her affiliation with the Ki-Wives Club of Wilmington. In her leisure time, she spent time traveling the world with her late husband. Above all else, Betsy was a devoted daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and sister. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, the late L. Richard Deverell, Sr.; 3 brothers; and 3 sisters. Betsy is survived by her daughters, Geraldine Deverell, and companion, Harry Maucher and Diane Rafferty, and husband, Steve; son, L. Richard Deverell, Jr., and wife, Kay; 7 grandchildren; and 7 great grandchildren

A funeral service will be held at 11 am on Wednesday, January 16, 2013, at The Chapel of Gracelawn Memorial Park, 2220 N. DuPont Parkway, New Castle, DE, where friends and family may call from 10 am to 11 am.

Entombment will follow in the adjoining memorial park.
