"The soldiers showed much respect for Sergeant Bruce Snoots, and his casket was covered with beautiful flowers in artistic designs from florists in Cleveland and elsewhere. Lieutant F. Langham said of him in a letter to his mother: 'Sergeant Bruce Snoots was an excellent solider who was universally liked by his officers and his fellow soldiers. His unfortunate death is a source of genuine sorrow to all of us.' Company I of Coshocton took charge of the burial services in that city."
Bruce was survived by his mother and siblings Jennie Jones, Bessie Wyland, Rev. Frank, Mary Mathews, Charles and Emmett.
