"TEC5 Edgar Foy Knight was in a vehicle in a column of vehicles crossing the Roer River on 27 February 1945 in the drive toward the Rhineland. They were in the town of Brachelen, Germany, waiting for traffic to clear so they could cross the bridge across the river. As the vehicle in which Edgar was riding moved out, it ran over a buried enemy mine which exploded. Edgar was taken from the vehicle unconscious, taken to a hospital, but never regained consciousness and died the next day from his injuries."
