Justin Clark Hamblin, the son of Ren Gilbert and Lois (Malone) Hamblin, was killed in England on October 3, 1942, in a plane crash. He entered the service in October 1941, and trained at Keesler Field, Mississippi, Walla Walla, Washington, Tyndale Field, Florida, and Bangor, Maine. He was graduated from Hanford Union High School in 1937, and was employed in Hanford before going into the Armed Forces.


Killed aboard a B-17 bomber that crashed into Slieve An Orra mountain 40 miles north of Belfast, Northern Ireland on October 3, 1942. Eight crew members perished in the crash while 2 crew members survived.
