LEVI POWER, 80, DIES AT FARM IN LOUISVILLE

Monday morning, June 13, Levi Power was taken ill with a severe pain, while at work in the field with His son, Robert. He thought it was indigestion and until Friday morning was up and down, though not well. A physician was called Friday morning and pronounced it pleural pneumonia and a nurse, Mrs. Potter was secured and His children called home. He seemed better Saturday, until about 7 p.m., when a great change came and bronchial pneumonia developed and He lived only until 9 o'clock p.m.

Levi Power was 80 years old in January and was born in this town, eldest son of a family of nine children of Mr. and Mrs. Peter Power and lived all His life in the vicinity. He married Miss Elizabeth Thompson, 43 years ago and to them were born four children, Miss Mary and Robert, who have always lived at home; Minard of Norwood and Hazel (Mrs. G.M. Browning) of this town to whom sympathy is extended in Their sad hour.

Two sisters, Mrs. Elizabeth Ballou, who is very ill at present; Mrs. G.W. Tuttle of Chase Mills and one brother, George Power of Colorado and six grandchildren, Ray, Rena and Omeley Browning, Irene, Ivan and Alice Power, survive also. Mr. Power will be missed by His neighbors, as He was one good neighbor Himself and so active, that it was never thought He was old.

His funeral was Tuesday; services at the home, Rev. Schumaker of Massena, officiating. The large gathering of friends and the floral offerings, spoke of the esteem in which He held. His bearers were O.B. Hurlbut, J.G. Doud, E.A. Forrester and Thomas E. Barnett. Burial was at Louisville Cemetery and ninety autos were in the procession from the home. Friends from Potsdam, Norwood, Norfolk, Madrid, Flackville, Heuvelton and Louisville Landing wer present.
