On October 20, 1937, she married Walter Harold McCahan in Burlington, Iowa. He died January 1, 1975. Retta was a homemaker, worked at J. I. Case Co.,was a Huron School lunch cook, and worked in IAAP Production. She enjoyed the outdoors, vegetable gardening, flowers, sewing, quilting and puzzles. She was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, one grandson, two sisters and two brothers.
