MRS. CATHERINE BEBER
DIES HOSPITAL SUNDAY
Mrs. Catherine Beber, 58, wife of
William Beber, residing at 1059
North Anderson street, died at the
Mercy hospital Sunday afternoon at
12:36 o'clock, of a complication of
ailments.
She had been in failing health for
the past year and made a gallant
fight, but became seriously ill about
a week ago and was removed to the
hospital.
She was born in Germany and came
to this country when she was eightt-
een years of age. She was united in
marriage October 7, 1901. She re-
sided here twenty-six years.
Mrs. Beber was a devoted mother
and wife and was one of Elwood's
most highly respected women. She
was an active member of the St. Jo-
seph's church and the Rosary Society.
She was also affiliated with the Wood-
men Circle.
Besides the husband she is surviv-
ed by one son, Joseph Beber, of El-
wood; one daughter, Mrs. John Gil-
bert, of Elwood; one stepson William
Beber, of Elwood; one brother John
Schuh, of Hamilton, Ohio and one sis-
ter Mrs. Marie Mays, of Germany.
Funeral services will be conducted
at the St. Joseph's church Wednes-
day morning at 8 o'oclock by the pas-
tor, Father B. Biegel and burial will
be made in the Catholic cemetery.
