He witnessed the marriage of his brother Heinrich "Henry" Schlue in Liverpool, England, on 10 May 1854 and then (probably) embarked with Henry on the "Lightning" for Australia a few days later.
Charles married Sarah Hill (born about 1850, probably in Australia) about 1882 in New South Wales. Charles and Sarah had (at least) six children: Ellen (b abt 1883); Jane (b abt 1885); Mary L. (b abt 1887); Charles (b 4 February 1894); William (b abt 1895); and James (b abt 1899). Sarah Hill Schlue died 1900 in Dubbo, NSW.
