Death Comes To Lester Sturgeon

Lester Ralph Sturgeon, 53, passed away at the Pawnee County Hospital Thursday evening following a long illness.

Funeral services were held on Sunday afternoon from the Wherry Chapel in Table Rock with the Rev. Ward Merritt officiating. Burial was made in the Table Rock cemetery.

Mr. Sturgeon who lived with his mother in Table Rock, was in the trucking business with his brothers for many years, until going into farming the last few years.

OBITUARY-

Lester Ralph Sturgeon was born February 26, 1910 on a farm near Summerfield, Kansas to John N. and Ida Young Sturgeon. He spent most of his life in Pawnee county, having been in the trucking business for 25 years with his brothers. The last few years he was engaged in farming.

He passed away at the Pawnee County Hospital on December 12, 1963 at the age of 53 years, 9 months and 16 days.

Survivors include his mother, three brothers, Lyle of Table Rock, Merl of Council Bluffs, Ia., and John of Reeds, Mo., and one sister, Mrs. Lester (Irma) Harris of Table Rock; also one niece and 5 nephews. He was preceded in death by his father and an infant brother and sister.

Funeral services were held in the Wherry Mortuary in Table Rock, Sunday December 15th, the Rev. Ward Merritt of Humboldt officiating. Mr. and Mrs. Paul Sturgeon sang, "What A Friend" and Rock of Ages", accompanied at the piano by Mrs. Russell Woeppel.

The pallbearers were Lewis Day, Orwin Gold, Harold Shuss, Rudy Fritch,Sr., John Glathar, and Willard Hanna. The flower ladies were Mrs. Martin Cumro and Mrs. Stanley Blecha.

Burial was in the table Rock cemetery.
