Mr. Feese was born near Columbia, January 29, 1854, being 81 years old when he died. He was a son of Sam and Malinda Hardin Feese, who were among the early settlers of Adair County. He married Miss Kate Montgomery, also a native of Adair, and they had eight children, seven of whom are living.
When a young man, Mr. Feese taught school in this county. He also worked at the carpenter trade and for many years engaged in the undertaking business. He professed faith in Christ a number of years ago and united with the Columbia Christian Church. He spent practically all his life in Columbia where he has many friends and relatives, who are deeply grieved over his passing. He spent the last two years of his life with children and grandchildren in Campbellsville.
The following children survive: Mrs. Mark Wilson and Mrs. Will Wilson, of Campbellsville; Mrs. A.R. Bishop and Mrs. William Catlin, of Louisville; Mrs. Stanley Epperson, of Columbia; R.M. Feese, of Lexington, and W.S. Feese, of Dayton, Ohio. The deceased also leaves two brothers, Hardin Feese, of Absher, and Richard Feese, of Knifley and a number of grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at the Columbia Christian Church, Monday afternoon at 3 o'clock, conducted by Rev. H.J. Conover. Interment was in the City Cemetery.
The pall bearers were: Raymond Hutchison, Lewis Wilson, Robert Bishop, Rollin Feese, Joe Wilson, George Wilson. Honorary pall bearers: J.P. Beard, W.T. McFarland, J.W. Coy, J.F. Patteson, W.R. Myers, and Brack Massie.
