Augustus Biars was born on 10 Aug 1883 in Gallipolis, Gallia County, Ohio, a son of Gustava "Gus" Biars and wife Kate Kraus. His parents were immigrants.

Mr. Biars died on 16 Oct 1971 in a Hinton hospital, Summers County, W.Va. He was buried in Valley View Cemetery, Hinton.

Survivors included his wife Myrtle Bragg Biars; brother Christopher Biars; three sons, Fred V., Grover Oscar and Edward Eugene Biars; and two daughters, Lois Marie Biars Warren and Thelma Catherine Biars Bennett.
