"The LaFayette Sun" - March 1, 1916:
Messrs. Ernest Davis and William Parker, two young men of the Rock Spring community, have returned from a four months stay in the orange grove section of Florida. The recent cold weather in that latitude put an end to their business.

"The LaFayette Sun" - October 24, 1934:
(Rock Springs) The church cotton patch workers gave a barbecue Saturday in Mr. E. K. Davis' pasture. It was enjoyed by all attending.
Note: During the Great Depression years, some of the church members raised a field of cotton with the proceeds going towards paying the preacher of Rock Spring Church for the year.
