LAFAYETTE -- Mrs. Johnnie Davis, 103, died Sunday, Feb. 16, 2003 at East Alabama Medical Center in Opelika, Ala.
Funeral services are scheduled for Tuesday, Feb. 18 at 1 p.m. at Rock Springs Baptist Church in LaFayette with the Revs. Charles Whitson and Roger Adcock officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Mrs. Davis is survived by her daughter, Mary (Henry) Sanders of LaFayette; her daughter-in-law, June Davis of Columbus, Ga.; six grandchildren, Robert P. (Connie) Gay Jr., Jonee (Randy) Lambert, Sherri (Ken) Calloway, James E. (Linda) Davis Jr., Pattie (Sam) Gullick and Jenni (Jim) Shield; and eight great-grandchildren.
Born April 20, 1899 in Chambers County, Mrs. Davis was a very active member of Rock Springs Baptist Church, where she served as a Sunday school teacher and played the piano for over 50 years. She was the oldest member of the church. Mrs. Davis was preceded in death by her husband, E.K. (Cap) Davis; two sons, Thomas Langdon Davis and James Elton (Jim) Davis; and her great-grandson, Travis Langdon Smith.
Flowers will be accepted, or donations may be made to Rock Springs Baptist Church or to one's favorite charity.
The family will receive friends Monday, Feb. 17 from 5 until 8 p.m. at Jeff Jones Funeral Home in LaFayette.
