From the July 24, 1901 LaFayette Sun:

Mrs. Henry Davis, after a painful illness from the effect of blood poison, died on last Friday morning, at Penton, her remains being deposited in the cemetery at Penton on Saturday. Rev. Mr. Bentley, of Milltown performed the funeral ceremony. The bereaved ones have our sympathy.

From the July 31, 1901 LaFayette Sun:

Death of a Good Woman.

On Saturday morning, July 13th, Mrs. Susie Davis (nee Benton) departed this life. She was baptized into the fellowship of Milltown Baptist church in 1886, by Rev. A. S. Smith, where she lived a consistent Christian life till she was called up higher. She was ever ready to help support her pastor and give to the cause of missions. She was married to Mr. Henry Davis in 1891. She was an affectionate wife and a loving mother. We extend sympathy to the husband and three children. While in her death they sustain a great loss, yet to her it is eternal gain.

Additional note: Her's is a sad story. She gave birth to a premature stillborn baby girl on July 3. She had fallen a few weeks earlier & it is believed that killed the baby although it did not trigger labor. The infection more than likely weakened her body to the point it started the labor. She probably was infected already, and died 10 days after the stillbirth.
