Funeral services for James Naylor Jones Sr. 83, Maeser farmer who died in a Salt Lake hospital Saturday morning of causes incident to age, were conducted Wednesday in Maeser LDS ward chapel by Harvey McKee, bishop.
He was born November 18, 1865 in Marysvale, had resided in Heber and Ashley Valley. Speakers at the services were Carl Richens and Nathan Hardy.
Burial was in Rock Point Cemetery.
Survivors include the following sons and daughters: Stanley and Marcellas Jones, Vernal; Wallace Jones, Ogden; Owen Jones, Layton; DeLyle Jones, Bountiful; Mrs. Lacy Roper, Mrs. Hattie Wamsley and Mrs. Mary Searle, all of Vernal and Mrs. LaVelle Schaefermeyer, Roosevelt; and a brother, Isaac Jones, Manti.

James Naylor Jones, 82, a resident of Maeser, Uintah County, Utah, for 60 years, died October 2, 1948 at 7:15 p.m. in the General Hospital in Salt Lake City, Utah of pneumonia and heart disease. His hospital stay lasted 4 days.
He was born November 18, 1865 in Maryvale, Piute County, Utah to Caroline Delight Allen Jones and James Naylor Jones. He married Mary Ann Bodily November 14, 1889. He was preceded in death by his wife. His occupation had been a farmer.
Interment was made in the Rock Point Cemetery, Maeser, Utah on October 5, 1948. Lindquist-Fernelius handled the funeral arrangements.
