Owen Edward Jones, 95, passed away Monday, January 1, 1996, at Rocky Mountain Care Center.

He was born September 4, 1900 in Maeser, Utah, a son of James Naylor and Mary Ann Bodily Jones. He married Martha May Hatch on June 30, 1925 in Vernal, Utah. He had lived in the Uintah Basin for 43 years, Layton, Utah, 16 years and Sunset Utah for 36 years. He was a graduate of Uintah High School in Vernal. He was a High Priest in the LDS Church. He enjoyed fishing with his grandchildren and working with his computer. He was a member of the Layton Lions Club. He was a saddle maker and had worked and retired from Hill Air Force Base.

He is survived by his wife, Martha, Sunset; three son, Marvin C. (Idonna) Jones, Ogden; Gerald H. (Janice) Jones, Layton; Owen G. (Carole) Jones, Fairfax, Virginia; one daughter, Nila J. (Bruce) Robins, Chamblee, Georgia; 10 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren. Also surviving are one brother, E. De Lyle (Nelda) Jones, Bountiful; one sister, Mary E. Searle, Layton, Utah.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, January 5, 1996 at Lindquist's Layton Mortuary, 1074 North Fairfield Road. Friends and family will meet from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday and 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. Friday at the mortuary. Interment at Lindquist's Memorial Park at Layton.
