CHESAPEAKE - Shirley T. Drury, 80, passed away March 6, 2007. She was born April 4, 1926, the daughter of Catlett Taliaferro and Gladys Culpepper. Mrs. Drury spent her early years in Reedville, Va., before returning to Norfolk where she attended Maury High School.
Mrs. Drury was predeceased by her husband of 59 years, George William Drury Jr. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother and will be missed by all.
Survivors include two sons, George W. Drury III and John T. Drury; a daughter, Nancy D. Enos; and seven grandchildren, Kristina Markle, Aaron Enos, Kimberly Sizemore, Dennis Fisher, Jared Drury, Jessica Enos and Justin Drury.
A graveside service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Friday at Forest Lawn Cemetery with the Rev. Ernest L. Trueblood officiating. The family will receive friends at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Indian River Chapel, today from 7 to 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Norfolk SPCA.
