SUMMERS WRIGHT DAUGHTERTY
---S. W. Daugherty, ninety-three, died of pneumonia at his home here Saturday morning. The Sunday previous to his death, he had been able to attend services at the Christian Church where his faithfulness was often mentioned and appreciated.
---Funeral services were held at the church Monday afternoon, conducted by Carl Huff, Christian minister. Burial was in La Plata cemetery.
---The deceased was a son of Fountain and Mary Ann Daugherty and was born November 25, 1855, east of La Plata and was the last member of a large family. His parents, four brothers and six sisters preceded him in death. His wife, the former Virlinda Collins, whom he married March 5, 1884, died on July 15, 1932.
---Survivors include a number of nieces and nephews.
---Mr. Daugherty moved to La Plata where he was engaged in the hardware business for many years and later in the Grand Leader Department Store. He had been retired from active business for several years.
